Rotary Zone 22 welcomes you to Uganda

From the 01st  - 05th December 2020 the Rotary worlds eyes will be focused on Uganda as it hosts the Rotary Zone 22 hosts the 2nd annual African Rotary Institute. The entire conference will be held at the Speke Resort in Munyonyo an ideal location for the conference and to explore Uganda either prior of after the conference.

3 Day Flying Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Kampala - Entebbe Airport - Bwindi N.P

The short drive to the airport will only afford you enough time to catch glimpses of the beauty of Lake Victoria.

Your domestic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi will be a real treat. Flying over the third largest lake in the world will give you an incredible perspective of just how beautiful Uganda is.

On arrival to Kihihi, you will be met by a Let's Go Travel representative who will transfer you in a 4X4 vehicle to your

lodge!

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi N.P

Your Gorilla Trekking experience is finally here, hope your camera is charged and you are ready for what lies ahead. An early start will see you transfer to the Park Headquarters for a briefing with the Uganda Wildlife Authority guides. An

advance party of guides will have gone ahead into the forest to locate where the gorillas slept the previous night and will have began to track their movements.

These guides will communicate with your team via a walkie-talkie and the trek into the forest will begin. Locating the Gorillas can take a few hours or the whole day depending on how far they have moved from the place they spent the previous night. For conservation purposes, the amount of time allowed with the Gorillas is 1 hour. Once you have

completed the trek you will return to the lodge, for a well earned rest and time to reflect on a truly magical experience.

Day 3: Bwindi N.P - Entebbe Airport - Kampala

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Kihihi for your flight back to Entebbe. The drive from your lodge to the airstrip shouldn't take long. On arrival in Entebbe you will be met by a Let's Go Travel representative who will transfer to Kampala the capital city of Uganda, where you will be able to relax.

4 Day Murchison Falls Safari

Day 1: Kampala - Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

An early morning rise will enable you to begin your safari and heading north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which will be the first scheduled stop for your Rhino Trekking Activity. You will be provided with trained rangers who will guide you

through a Rhino Trekking expedition where you will observe the rhinos at a very close and safe distance. After spending one hour with the Southern White Rhinos you will have the reminder of the day to relax at the lodge or participate in optional activities.

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - Murchison Falls N.P

An early start will see you head towards Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi town where you will stop for lunch before continuing to the park. The journey to the park entrance will take you through the beautiful Kaniyo Pabidi

Forest until the Kichumbanyobo Gate. On arrival at the park there will be time for a mini game drive before heading to your lodge for the evening.

Day 3: Murchison Falls N.P

Game drives in Murchison Falls are incredible. The park is home to all of the Big 5 with the exception of the Rhino. Also resident are the hippo, buffalo, giraffe as well as several antelope and monkey species as well as a large number of birds including African fish eagles and the rare shoe-bill storks. After the game drive you will return to the lodge.

After lunch, it will be time for a boat ride along the Nile to the foot of Murchison Falls, expect to see birds perched

on tree branches ready to hunt, mammals drinking or cooling down in the river and reptiles basking in the sun on the river banks. One of the highlights of the boat ride is getting up close to Murchison Falls itself,

Day 4: Murchison Falls N.P – Kampala

Murchison Falls National Park really has the best of everything and you will probably want to stay longer. 

The safari will now continue south eastwards towards

Kampala.

Uganda - Rotary Queen Elizabeth National

3 Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

Day 1: Kampala - Queen Elizabeth N.P

The safari will head West towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. There will be a stop of for lunch on the way before you arrive at your lodge in the afternoon. You will have the option to relax at the lodge for the remainder of the day or go on a mini evening game drive.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth N.P

Early morning game drive in Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park is a great place to see view differing landscape and ecosystems in Uganda. After the game drive you will return to your lodge.

After lunch it will be time for your boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. The boat ride is a round trip beginning at the Mweya Peninsula and lasting around 3 hours. The channel has one of the world's largest concentration of hippos, numerous Nile crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and a whole host of birds. including African fish eagles, kingfishers,

herons, storks and skimmers.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth N.P – Kampala

It will be difficult to say good bye to  Queen Elizabeth National park and head back to Kampala. The drive will see you leave the Ankole / Toro Kingdom boarder and head

back into the Buganda Kingdom. As you get closer to Kampala you will notice a change in landscape signalling the imminent arrival at your destination.

4 Day Jinja and Sipi Falls Safari

Day 1: Kampala - Jinja

The trip from Kampala to Jinja is a well trodden one, especially on the weekend when thrill seekers from Kampala escape to Jinja, in search of adventure and a chance to be close to The River Nile and Lake Victoria. On arrival to Jinja you will have a choice of activities like, rafting, tubing, nature walks, birds watching or simply relaxing by the river nile.

Day 2: Jinja - Sipi Falls

Having enjoyed the beauty of Jinja and the Nile you will begin your journey Eastwards to Sipi in Kapchorwa. On arrival you will have a choice of relaxing at your lodge, or going on a walk to explore the area all in the environs of the amazing Sipi Falls..

Day 3: Sipi Falls

Today you will you will spend a full day hiking through the 3 water falls that make up Sipi Falls. Winding trails lead hikers through local communities to roaring waterfalls, lush farms and forests, and magnificent views of the Karamoja plains. Sipi Falls is a hiker's paradise waiting to be explored. The hike is guided by friendly, knowledgeable and professional guides from the Sipi Falls Tour Guides Association.

Day 4: Sipi Falls - Jinja - Kampala

Having had a wonderful time in Sipi, it will be time to head back to Entebbe. You will drive westwards towards the Busoga Kingdom via Jinja which was once an industrial town of the country before continuing to Kampala.
